CAIRO, May 10 (Xinhua) -- President of Xinhua News Agency Fu Hua met here Sunday with Ahmed Ghoneim, chief executive officer (CEO) of the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM).
Noting that the GEM is not only a source of pride for the Egyptian people but also a significant testament to exchanges and mutual learning among human civilizations, the head of China's state news agency said Xinhua is ready to further deepen exchanges and cooperation with the GEM.
He suggested that the two sides uphold a vision of civilization based on equality, mutual learning, dialogue and inclusiveness, implement the Global Civilization Initiative, and inject more positive energy into deepening China-Egypt civilizational dialogue and promoting the cultural prosperity of the Global South.
Ghoneim said that Xinhua, leveraging its extensive global communication network, has effectively expanded the GEM's international influence. He added that the GEM looks forward to building on the good cooperation with Xinhua, fostering new collaboration mechanisms, and jointly advancing exchanges and mutual learning among human civilizations.
