ISLAMABAD, April 5 (Xinhua) -- Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar on Saturday held a series of telephone conversations with his counterparts from Iran, Egypt and Bahrain, reaffirming Pakistan's call for de-escalation and dialogue amid evolving regional tensions, the Foreign Office said.
In a talk with Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Dar said they exchanged views on the evolving regional situation, and both agreed to maintain close contact in view of ongoing developments.
Dar reiterated Pakistan's support for all efforts aimed at de-escalation and underscored the importance of resolving issues through dialogue and diplomacy.
In separate conversations with Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty and Bahraini Foreign Minister Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Dar reiterated Pakistan's support for all initiatives aimed at reducing tensions.
