KIEV -- Powerful explosions shook the area of Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) on Saturday evening and Sunday morning, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) said, amid escalating conflicts between Ukraine and Russia.

ASTANA -- Kazakhstan on Sunday held a snap presidential race, and six candidates, including incumbent President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, are running for the Central Asian country's top job.

BAGHDAD -- The Counter-Terrorism Service (CTS) in Iraq's semi-autonomous region of Kurdistan said Sunday that 32 Kurdish militants were killed in airstrikes in northern Iraq and Syria.

A statement by the CTS said that more than 25 airstrikes were conducted by the Turkish forces on positions of the Turkish Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) and the Kurdish People's Protection Units (YPG) in many areas in northern Syria and mountainous areas in northern Iraq. LOS ANGELES -- At least five people were killed and 18 others injured in a shooting on Saturday at a nightclub in the U.S. state of Colorado, said local police.

CAIRO -- At least 12 people were killed and 27 others wounded on Sunday in a traffic crash in eastern Egypt, an Egyptian health official said.
