CAIRO -- Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry and his visiting Greek counterpart Nikos Dendias discussed on Monday ways to advance cooperation between the two countries.
The two diplomats also exchanged opinions on a number of regional issues of mutual interest, the Egyptian foreign ministry said in a statement.
Shoukry highlighted Egypt's willingness in facilitating the flow of Greek investments to Egypt and removing obstacles that might face Greek companies. (Egypt-Greece-Ties)

ADEN, Yemen -- The International Organization for Migration (IOM) said at least eight people, including guards, were killed in a fire at a migrant detention center in Yemen's capital Sanaa.
The UN agency confirmed in a brief press statement that the fire engulfed the center which is controlled by the authorities of the Houthi rebel group in Sanaa on Sunday.
The IOM's Regional Director for the Middle East and North Africa Carmela Godeau said in a Twitter statement that "we are extremely saddened by the death of migrants and guards resulting from a fire at a holding facility in Yemen's Sanaa." (Yemen-Migrants-Fire)

DAMASCUS -- Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and his wife Asma al-Assad were tested positive for COVID-19, state news agency SANA reported on Monday.
After experiencing some symptoms, the president and his wife took the PCR test and the result came positive even though they are in good and stable health, SANA said.
Assad and the first lady will be observing a quarantine between two to three weeks while continuing to carry out their work.
The president urged the people to observe safety measures to protect against the COVID-19 epidemic. (Syria-President-Coronavirus)

TEHRAN -- Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Monday called for the cessation of war and siege on Yemen led by Saudi Arabia.
The Saudi-led coalition should end the war and end the siege on Yemen "soon," Saeed Khatibzadeh, the spokesman of Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said during his weekly press conference.
Iran has offered a political plan to settle the disputes of Yemen from the beginning, and it announced its readiness to help end the war, said Khatibzadeh. (Iran-Saudi Arabi-Yemen)
