CAIRO -- Official delegations from Egypt and Qatar held their first meeting on Tuesday in Kuwait since both countries signed a reconciliation agreement in January to end their three-year rift.
The meeting is meant to discuss mechanisms needed to enhance future joint work after the signing of the Kuwaiti-sponsored reconciliation deal in Al-Ula city of Saudi Arabia last month, Egypt's Foreign Ministry said in a statement. (Egypt-Kuwait-Reconciliation)

KUWAIT CITY -- Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah on Tuesday held a meeting with visiting senior Chinese diplomat Yang Jiechi, during which the two sides hailed the deep-rooted friendship and solid political mutual trust.
Yang, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and director of the Office of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the CPC Central Committee, conveyed Chinese President Xi Jinping's cordial greetings to the Kuwaiti emir, and warmly congratulated Kuwait on celebrating its 60th National Day and the 30th anniversary of liberation. TEHRAN -- Iran halted on Tuesday the implementation of the Additional Protocol to the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), the Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif announced, official news agency IRNA reported.
"We officially announced on February 15 to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) that the law on this issue would be implemented from the morning of February 23, and therefore the implementation of this law has started this morning," Zarif said on the sidelines of a public event in Tehran. MUSCAT -- Oman has suspended flights and banned travelers from 10 countries as a precaution against the spread of the coronavirus, the official Oman News Agency reported on Tuesday.
The country's Supreme Committee tasked with the COVID-19 pandemic imposed a ban on travelers from Sudan, Lebanon, South Africa, Brazil, Nigeria, Tanzania, Ghana, Guinea, Sierra Leone and Ethiopia. (Oman-COVID19-Ban)
