Khamis made his remarks during a meeting with a delegation of Arab artists visiting Syria.
He noted to the artists' key role in shedding light on social and economic situations and conveying citizens' suffering and concerns through different art forms such as drama, theatre and cinema.
Premier Khamis said that artists and journalists could play essential role in confronting terrorism which targets all cultures and civilizations.
For their part, members of the visiting delegation expressed solidarity with Syria to confront this unjust terrorist war, highly appreciating the victories and sacrifices made by the Syrian Arab army in defending the homeland and the Arab Nation.
They stressed the need to defeat extremist mentality and raise awareness of Arab peoples about the danger of spreading such mentality on future generations and the Arab culture.
In a similar meeting, Speaker of the People's Assembly Hadiyeh Abbas explained to the delegation members the need to further consolidate joint Arab culture and heritage and spread cultural enlightenment to build new generations that are capable of making a change in the region and the whole world.
She hailed stances of Egyptian people in support Syria in its war against terrorist organizations.
For her part, Egyptian Actress Elham Shahin highly appreciated the steadfastness of the Syrian people and army under the leadership of President Bashar al-Assad, pointing out to the strength of Syrian women and their standing by the heroes of the Syrian army.
Meeting the Arab artists' delegation, Assistant Regional Secretary of al-Baath Arab Socialist Party Hilal al-Hilal said that art is meant to convey a valuable message as well as it greatly affect and direct the Arab public opinion amid the ferocious media campaign launched against Syria, indicating to artists' role in revealing the reality of what is taking place in Syria far away from misleading information and foreign agendas.
